Modernising a 135-Year Defence Legacy
Brand modernisation and community intelligence platform for America’s largest military shipbuilder.

The Challenge
HII is a 135-year-old US defence contractor operating across shipbuilding, mission technologies, and integrated defence solutions. Their brand had evolved piecemeal over decades, and neither their digital presence nor internal infrastructure reflected the scale of the organisation. They needed deep strategic, UX, and information architecture work to bring coherence to a sprawling, decentralised company.
The Approach
We delivered a full website upgrade, brand refresh, and creative content production across events and campaigns. We designed and built collateral for major defence expos, developed employer branding materials, and produced ongoing design assets across the organisation. In parallel, we built an internal employee portal — a centralised hub connecting departments with a rigorous focus on information architecture and user experience.

The internal portal unified HII’s distributed workforce into a single structured resource hub for the first time. The refreshed website, event presence, and creative output gave a 135-year institution a cohesive, modern identity. Design, content, and campaign work continues to scale across the organisation — built to perform under the scrutiny the defence sector demands.
